A day when, obviously, those who have to write about football stuff for a living have a lot of important things to be doing... such as this: a story about George Boateng complimenting a couple of Sky Sports News presenters on their clothes.
The former Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Hull City midfielder was appearing as a studio guest, giving his take on the latest transfer developments alongside Alan McInally.
With Natalie Sawyer already in position, she was joined by fellow presenter David Garrido, whose red tie matched her dress. Seemingly oblivious to the fact the cameras were rolling, Boateng interrupted Sawyer to make clear how much he appreciated the "collaboration".
"You are aware we're on now, by the way," McInally soon added.
