Fergie's first words after coming out of the coma were said to have been "How did Doncaster get on?", referring to his son Darren's job as manager of Doncaster Rovers, who did lose to Wigan 1-0 whilst Ferguson was in theatre.
A source told The Sun: “Everyone knows Sir Alex is a winner and this was one battle he was never going to lose.
“He’s back on his feet and glad to be out of hospital, though he couldn’t be more grateful to the staff."
Hopefully now he can put his feet up and enjoy the World Cup.
