The likes of Nemanja Vidic and Paul Scholes miss out

Roy Keane named his all-time Manchester United Premier League XI following their 3-0 win against Brentford on Monday night. United looked as comfortable as they could have been in their final home game of the season after goals from Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane secured a well-deserved three points against the Bees. https://twitter.com/FootballJOE/status/1521228138226884608 Ralf Rangnick's side still have a slim chance of securing a top-four finish, however results must go in their favour and the lack of consistency shown by the side all point towards challenging for a Champions League place next season. Following a rare positive performance at Old Trafford, Keane was then given the difficult task of naming his all-time best Man United XI. No doubt there will be some shocks and you're probably not going to agree with every suggestion he makes but this is Roy Keane, and if you dare to tell him he's wrong, you're braver person than most. https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1521252045608693762

Goalkeeper

Peter Schmeichel A real good choice to start off with. A goalkeeper who was involved in some of United's biggest moments, including being a part of the 1999 treble-winning team and no doubt was a goalkeeper that most players would rather have on your team as oppose to being on the opposition. Defenders

Right back - Gary Neville  Centre back - Jaap Stam  Centre back - Gary Pallister  Left back - Denis Irwin  Some surprise exclusions from these, but that's no discredit to the ones who were chosen. The full backs speak for themselves but the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic miss out in favour of Jaap Stam and Gary Pallister. It says how highly Keane thinks of the pair if they are ahead of arguably two of the Premier League's greatest defenders. Roy Keane Man United

Midfielders

Right midfield - David Beckham  Central midfield - Bryan Robson Central midfield - Paul Ince  Left midfield - Ryan Giggs  This midfield screams goals, assists and trophies. Serial winners all over the park who each offer something different to the side. On the wings you have the creative flair of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs, who can both jinx past people and conjure something out of nothing. Meanwhile in the middle you have Bryan Robson and Paul Ince, two individuals who will give everything for the cause. From the dirty work by breaking down opposition attacks as well as ensuring they were in the box to chip in with the goals. Roy Keane Man United

Attackers

Striker - Cristiano Ronaldo  Striker - Wayne Rooney  Two of the greatest players to wear Manchester United shirts. Although Keane played with them very briefly, he recognised their talents straight away and knew they were destined for greatness. Lo and behold and Keane was right. The pair have forged themselves into United history and both have broken numerous records during their time at Old Trafford. Roy Keane Man United Related links:
