Robbie Williams opened this World Cup with a stunning performance at the opening ceremony, which you'd imagine Toni Kroos thoroughly enjoyed.
But tonight it was Kroos who stole the headlines with an even more stunning 95th minute winner against Sweden. Germany were drawing 1-1 with Sweden and facing an early exit from the tournament, until their midfield metronome stepped up and expertly dispatched a sensational shot into the top corner from a narrow angle.
It will be one of many career highlights for Kroos, but the person who enjoyed it the most was possible his idol, Robbie Williams, who tweeted Kroos after the game, reciprocating Kroos' love for him.
