Charlie Savage could make his professional debut for Manchester United against Young Boys

Robbie Savage 'started to tear up' after it was announced that his son Charlie had been named on the bench for Manchester United's Champions League game against Young Boys. With United already through to the knockout stages, interim manager Ralf Rangnick has named a heavily rotated side, featuring several academy graduates, including Charlie, who has been named amongst the substitutes. "He's achieved so much in his young life now. "He's never been top of the group, he's always had to meet targets every two years when he was on the borderline and if he was going to be kept on. "As a father who's been a footballer and is standing on the sideline, people automatically think Charlie's going to be like his dad. "He's not like me, he's his own player and I'm just absolutely delighted." Savage then revealed he had given his son some words of advice in the run-up to the game. The co-commentator said: "Even if he doesn't get on, I've told him, 'whatever happens for the rest of your life, you've been on the bench for Manchester United' - something I couldn't do.
