The veteran goalkeeper will presumably play as back up to the first choice
Rob Green is undergoing a medical today ahead of a proposed move to Chelsea.
The 38-year-old spent last season at Huddersfield Town without making a single appearance for the Terriers and will likely move to Stamford Bridge as back up or, if Maurizio Sarri is feeling adventurous, as a left field replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian number one looks increasingly likely to move to Real Madrid, with the La Liga side said to have agreed terms with him.
Though a surprise, Chelsea's interest in Green represents something of a trend for the Premier League side, who have a tradition of deploying veteran goalkeepers as they're deputies.
They have previously employed Australian Mark Schwarzer as their back up, with the ex-Middlesbrough man making four appearances between 2013 and 2015, while Argentine stopper Willy Caballero has acted as number two since 2017.
