Despite the need to trim the squad only one player left in the summer as Mitchel Bakker departed on a permanent deal to join Bayer Leverkusen.
L'Équipe have now reported that the French side are set to post a record loss for the 2021-22 campaign, with Mbappé's new contract set to make up the bulk of the losses.
The Frenchman's contract is believed to be costing the club around £540m over the course of the three years, with a third of the total (roughly £180m) included in last season's accounts.
Additionally, the French club did record an income of £686m but were forced to pay £8.5m to UEFA in fines due to their losses.
Even though PSG have suffered huge losses it didn't stop from having a busy transfer window to prepare Christophe Galtier for his first season in charge.
Renato Sanches, Carlos Soler, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and Nordi Mukiele all joined the club in the summer.
