Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang could reportedly make a move to the United States as his Chelsea future remains in doubt. Aubameyang only joined the Blues in September but has been pushed down the pecking order after Todd Boehly splashed the cash in the January transfer window. The former Arsenal forward was also left out of the 25-man Champions League squad, making way to accommodate three of Chelsea's new signings. Chelsea boss Graham Potter said the decision to pull the Gabon international from the squad was not an easy one.
"Pierre’s a professional and of course I understand he will be disappointed," he said.
"It was a tough decision, a tough call, we had three coming in and two had to go out, so he was the one that missed out. He’s done nothing wrong at all.
"It’s tough because I am empathic, so I understand his disappointment, but I’ve got a responsibility which is to make these tough decisions and then articulate them as honestly and as well as I can to the player, and then respect the fact that he’s going to be disappointed.
"He’s handled it very well, which is what I would expect. He’s been a top guy for us."
Spanish website Relevo have revealed that the 33-year-old could be offered an escape route out of Stamford Bridge with LAFC linked with bringing the forward to the MLS.
With the European transfer window closed as well as already playing for two European sides (Barcelona and Chelsea) this season, moves outside of the continent are the only option for the former Borussia Dortmund man.
LAFC start their season onFebruary 25 in 'El Traffico' against its crosstown rival Los Angeles Galaxy and are also competing in the CONCACAF Champions League in 2023, starting their campaign with a round of 16 two-legged tie against Costa Rican side Alajuelense in March.
