Mystery Premier League footballer releases rap song and fans think they’ve worked out who it is

He describes himself as 'a rapper at home footballer on the pitch'

The player, who goes under the name of DIDE, describes himself as a "rapper at home footballer on the pitch" on his Instagram account, which has over 21,000 followers.

DIDE hides his identity by wearing a mask but the fact that his music videos are shot in London, there is belief that he must play for one of the clubs in the capital.

Last week he released a new song titled 'Thrill', which gives an insight into his life behind the scenes and some of the lyrics have left people thinking they may know the identity of the player.

Names such as Wilfried Zaha, Noni Madueke and Reiss Nelson have all been guessed but there's one name that consistently pops up... Eddie Nketiah.

One Twitter user even produced a whole thread to explain his reasoning as to why he felt it was the Arsenal striker behind the mask.

"If you haven’t seen it already, an ‘unknown’ Premier League footballer has just dropped a new track. However, he’s not unknown to most of us; it’s Eddie Nketiah," he said.

The user then went on to analyse a number of lyrics including "my team stay winnin’" and "they're gonna (gunner) put it in the paper" while also referring to a goal similar to the one Nketiah scored in January.

Others also believe that the name DIDE is an anagram of Eddie.

If that is the case and Arsenal do go on to win the league, maybe DIDE will perform live at the Emirates for the trophy lift.
