Liverpool fans have brutally trolled Marcus Rashford after a 2019 tweet resurfaced shortly after his side’s heavy defeat on Sunday.

Manchester United were beaten 7-0 as goals from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Núñez, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino condemned Erik ten Hag’s side to their worst-ever defeat against their rivals.

Rashford, who has been one of the Premier League’s in-form players over recent months, struggled to make an impact at Anfield and was subbed towards the end of the game.

To make his night even worse, Liverpool fans took it upon themselves to troll the 25-year-old after finding an old tweet from the forward posted in 2019.

The caption, “Who wants 7?” led to rival fans referring to the embarrassing result Rashford and his teammates suffered.

One fan wrote: “Since you’re asking Marcus. Go on then.”

Another said: “Bro saw the future.”

A third tweeted: “You and the entire Man Utd squad.”

“Oh go on then if you’re offering rashy.”

Ten Hag didn’t hold back in his post-match interview, labelling his side’s performance as “unprofessional” and “really bad, really poor.”

He said: “It is quite obvious, it was unprofessional. First half, I think we were the better team — we created the better chances and had two one-on-ones with the goalie.

“Before half-time, we made one organisational mistake and conceded a goal. We were in the game. It really surprised me after half-time, we gave the game [away] so quickly.

“As a team, you have to stick together. That is what we didn’t do.

“It is a surprise for me, I didn’t see this from my team. I don’t think it is us. I don’t think it is Manchester United. It was really bad, really poor.”
