Manchester City fans took the chance to rub salt into the wounds of Manchester United fans with a pile of dung outside the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. City returned to the top of the Premier League following a 3-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion following goals from Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva. United, however, have endured a torrid time of late - most recently losing 4-0 to rivals Liverpool - and are currently sixth in the table, with their hopes of qualifying for the top four fading away. Despite their appointment of Erik ten Hag on Thursday, the atmosphere around Old Trafford is very toxic and their city rivals aren't keen for sympathy. Instead, they decided to let United know just how bad they have been with a sign. The light-hearted message was well received by City supporters, as they had yet another chance to laugh at their neighbours down the road, while some questioned the level of planning into it.
