Liverpool are so good this season even Modern Family are talking about them

They've hit the big time

They’ve finally made it

Liverpool have had a wonderful season. They’re a game away from securing their place in next season’s Champions League and are also one game away from winning this season’s Champions League.

That’s all well and good, sure, but have they really scaled the heights? Have they really had as good is va season as they could have had? Before today, we would most likely have said no. But now, once and for all, we can say – beyond all doubt – that they have.

Because yes, distinguished readers, Liverpool have been name checked in an episode of popular American comedy Modern Family. The show, about a truly modern family in the United States, is now in its ninth season and has had 208 episodes aired.

In the most recent season of the show, the family’s eldest child Haley begins a new relationship with a man who is presumably a fan of football, because her mother mentions the fact that she has not only begun watching football suddenly, but also begun calling it “football” rather than “soccer”.

It is at that point that Haley replies – and I’m not lying here – she says: “Oh just calm down, it’s been three months and everyone knows Liverpool is having a cracking season.”

So. There it is. Not entirely sure what to make of that to be honest. To be fair to her, Liverpool are having “a cracking season”.

Most importantly, Liverpool fans can now be confident in the knowledge that their club have finally scaled the heights to which they had always hoped to return. They are back on top. They are on Modern Family.
