Kylian Mbappé has broken his silence with a three-word message to French supporters after their World Cup final defeat.
France were beaten by Argentina on penalties at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday despite coming from behind twice in normal time and extra time.
For Mbappé personally it was another milestone moment as he became the first player to score a hat trick in a World Cup final since Sir Geoff Hurst in 1966.
The forward scored twice from the spot during the game while his other strike was a crisply met half volley which nestled into the bottom corner past Emi Martinez.
Mbappé also converted all three of the penalties he took during the game but it wasn't enough as France failed in their quest to become the first side since Brazil in 1962 to win back-to-back World Cups.
However despite the defeat, the forward is keen to keep spirits up and look ahead to the future and posted a three-word message to Twitter on Tuesday which said: "We will return".

In addition to his excellent performance on Sunday, Mbappé also took home the Golden Boot award after scoring eight goals in Qatar. He's now five goals away from breaking Miroslav Klose's record of 16 goals to become the World Cup's all-time leading goal scorer.
The Frenchman still has plenty of time left. By the time the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico rolls around, Mbappé will still only be 27 and many believe that he can still play at another three World Cups at minimum.
