But it seems that terms are getting closer to being agreed as Mourinho revealed the player would not be in the United squad this weekend for the trip to Burnley and said United 'are there' with regards to bringing Sanchez on board at Old Trafford.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has started just two of the last 16 games for United and he has no problems with injury or anything, it's just a wait and see if they can get it over the line type of thing.

Manchester United play Yeovil in the FA Cup next Friday before an away trip to Spurs the following Wednesday. They then entertain Huddersfield at home on February 3 which would most likely be Alexis Sanchez's first appearance at Old Trafford as a United player.
