Jamie Vardy tells Leicester player he’s ‘done f**k all’ during title celebrations

Unhinged Vardy

Jamie Vardy jokingly claimed that one Leicester City player had “done f**k all” as the Foxes celebrated winning the SkyBet Championship.

Leicester needed a win against Preston North End to confirm their status as champions, just days after promotion was secured thanks to Leeds’ 4-0 drubbing away at QPR last week.

The Foxes completed the proceedings in style, beating the Lancashire outfit 3-0 to win the second tier for an eighth time in their history – more than any other club.

Vardy scored a brace while academy graduate Kasey McAteer also got on the scoresheet and ensured that Enzo Maresca’s first season in charge would be marked with an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Vardy party

Whenever Vardy is around you can always expect a party and the Leicester players and fans did exactly that.

After celebrating with the fans the squad then returned to the dressing room where they continued the festivities.

In a clip shared by winger Abdul Fatawu, in which he can be seen dancing, one fan reckons he could overhear Vardy informing young winger Wanya Marcal that he hadn’t contributed much.

“Is that Vardy in the background telling Wanya “You’ve done f*** all all season get up and dance,” someone asked.

Wanya Marcal did feature sporadically for the Foxes, playing eight games for the senior side in all competitions, scoring once in a 2-1 win against Cardiff City back in August.

‘It’s thoroughly deserved’

Upon completing his quest to help take Leicester back to the top flight, Vardy saluted the fans for making the long trip to Lancashire.

He told Sky Sports: “The season has gone quickly but it’s a graft! Not many days off, I’ll tell you that for nothing! The lads have given it their all. As you’ve seen us play, that’s like it is in training. It’s full throttle.

“It’s thoroughly deserved and I’m just glad we’ve had 5,000 here tonight to come and celebrate with us. The fans are massive. It’s not like it’s 20 minutes up the road. It’s a night game and to come out in those numbers, all still here now and wanting to celebrate.

“If you let them, they’d be here on the pitch with us! It’s great to do it. We can celebrate this tonight but now we’ve got another target which is 100 points on Saturday so we’ll make sure we celebrate that tonight and we’ll go again on Saturday where we get to celebrate with all the home fans.

“We’re obviously over the moon because that was the target at the start of the season. But we knew it could have gone the other way if we’re honest as obviously we’ve only been together since July so you never know what’s going to happen.”
