"If I was at PSG, I'd be very angry."

France World Cup and European Championship winner Christophe Dugarry has today hit out at Neymar for failing to attend Paris Saint-Germain's title win against AS Monaco. The injured Brazilian was in his homeland recuperating as his teammates dismantled the Monte Carlo team 7-1 to regain the Ligue 1 title, missing the title celebrations as a result. While the visit to Brazil was presumably sanctioned by his club, it was not welcomed by Dugarry, who took offence at the striker's decision to congratulate his teammates by posting a picture of himself and friends playing poker.

"How could Neymar not be there with his teammates with the title at stake?" he told RMC Sport, in quotes which were picked up by MARCA. "They've given him the role of leader and he doesn't even come to share in the win? "How is it possible that PSG can accept that? How can he look his teammates in the eye when he behaves that way? He's spitting on the club. I think it is outrageous. If he was at Barcelona, he would have returned with no problem."

Strong stuff, but the former AC Milan, Bordeaux and Birmingham continued undeterred, before claiming that such behaviour being allowed may well be part of the reason that PSG continue to under-perform in European competition.

"If I was at PSG, I'd be very angry. I can't stand those players who are only worried about themselves because it is the collective which wins games. It is never individual players [...] and yet people think that PSG can win the Champions League with attitudes like that!"
