Chelsea will open their Club World Cup campaign at 8pm on Monday night (16 June) when they face Los Angeles FC in their Group D game.
It seems Chelsea will be taking the new 32-team tournament seriously with a prize of £97m on offer to the winners. Even a group stage win nets Chelsea £1.5m in prize money and it should be a winnable fixture against the LA side.
The match will be free to watch across the world when you sign up for a free account at DAZN. Signing up allows you to live stream the game on mobile, tablet, laptop and on your smart TV. You can sign up here.
Chelsea qualified for the tournament thanks to their Champions League victory over Manchester City in 2021. They join City as one of two English clubs who were invited to take part in the tournament.
The Club World Cup has had a rocky start. Slow tickets sales and criticism over adding more games for players means the USA-based tournament has not been welcomed by every fan.
However Chelsea will be aware that the prize money offered up by tournament sponsors PIF is enough to boost their accounts and help to meet PSR guidelines.
With new signings including £30m striker Liam Delap and midfielder Dario Essugo set to make their debut in the tournament, it will be an exciting opportunity for fans to watch their side in competitive games.
Opponents LAFC were the final team to qualify for the tournament after beating Mexican side Club America.
They have a couple of familiar faces in their squad including former Spurs and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and ex-Chelsea striker Oliver Giroud, who will face off against his former club at the age of 38.
You can watch the match here.
