Los Blancos won 10 straight games on their way to lifting the La Liga title, but Bale played just 99 minutes during this period.
Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC Sport Wales that: "Gareth still loves Spurs," and "It's where he wants to be." To be fair to Barnett, South Hertfordshire golf club is one of the best in the area. There may be some truth in the rumours.
If Tottenham do add Gareth Bale to their books before the summer transfer window shuts, it won't be the only signing they'll make. They are rumoured to be leading the race to sign Bale's Real Madrid teammate, left back Sergio Reguilón.
Manchester United were firm favourites to land the Spaniard, but have been reportedly put off by the buy-back clause Real Madrid want included in the deal.
Reguilón spent last season on loan at Sevilla, where he excelled. His performance against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League ensured there would be no shortage of suitors for his services.Explore more on these topics:
