Lee Dixon played professional football at a high level

He won stuff; played for his country. The chances are, despite the fact he retired over 15 years ago, he's still better than you at football. Given the career he had, he's also pretty well qualified to get paid to talk about it. ITV Sport certainly seem to think so, as he was once again on their punditry team to discuss England's final World Cup warm-up game on home soil on Thursday night. Costa Rica were the opponents at Leeds' Elland Road Stadium, and fell behind to a brilliant long-range effort from Manchester United's Marcus Rashford early in the first half. While most people focused on the quality of Rashford's dipping shot, Dixon took a slightly different approach - deciding to criticise the Costa Rican goalkeeper, Keylor Navas. According to Dixon, Rashford's shot could and should have been saved by Navas, describing the Real Madrid star as "the most overrated goalkeeper in the world". Again, here is Rashford's "saveable" shot... https://twitter.com/itvfootball/status/1004804701911638016?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.joe.co.uk%2Fsport%2Fengland-fans-are-getting-giddy-after-marcus-rashfords-screamer-182939 It's safe to say plenty of people weren't in agreement with Dixon. https://twitter.com/martynziegler/status/1004814478683312128 https://twitter.com/SamStanfield213/status/1004813771708223488 https://twitter.com/maiktaylor1/status/1004815308241108992 https://twitter.com/samcunningham/status/1004817441745260551 https://twitter.com/BatesInThePlace/status/1004814584685973506 https://twitter.com/steveclarke11/status/1004814478133940225 https://twitter.com/Tomwinterr/status/1004814865188388864 https://twitter.com/benmason989/status/1004814165221912576 Game of opinions, and all that. Navas, as many tweets have since pointed out, recently won his third consecutive Champions League title as Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev. Not bad going, really.
