FIFA has said it is aware of the issues

Thousands of England fans have been struggling to get into the stadium for the Three Lions’ opening World Cup game against Iran due to ticketing issues.

Gareth Southgate’s side are taking on Iran in their first game of the 2022 Qatar World Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium.

But thousands of fans are at risk of missing kick-off because of ticketing issues.

The Daily Mirror reports that many supporters have had problems with the FIFA app that stores their tickets, with one fan taking to Twitter to show that they don’t have any tickets in their account.

Help centres are located outside the stadiums, but there could be delays if a large number of people are experiencing problems.

Fans are now also believed to be queuing for paper tickets at a convention centre in Doha, with users who logged out of the app within the last 24 hours not being able to get back in.

Free Lions, who are the Football Supporters’ Association Fans’ Embassy team, tweeted: “We’re aware of issues with some e-tickets at the stadium with FIFA’s ticketing app. The FA is working hard to find a resolution for England fans.

“If you have issues seeing your ticket on the app, join the ticketing resolution queue at the stadium, but keep checking the app.”

FIFA has since released a statement addressing the issue.
