Ed Woodward has confirmed that he has landed a new role just hours after Manchester United announced that his successor, Richard Arnold, would be leaving the club.

United revealed on Wednesday that Arnold would be leaving the club after 16 years.

He will be replaced by Patrick Stewart on an interim basis as United search for a long-term replacement, which is reportedly going to be Juventus CEO Jean-Claude Blanc.

Blanc works closely alongside Sir Jim Ratcliffe and oversees INEOS Sport’s entire portfolio.

Ratcliffe is expected to complete the purchase of his 25 per cent minority stake in the Red Devils imminently.

As for Woodward, Arnold’s predecessor has revealed that he has been appointed as a Strategic Advisor and Non-Executive Board Member for AI company SentientSports.

Upon being appointed, he said: “I am excited to be joining the SentientSports board and working alongside Ryan and the team. The blend of sports and AI technology at SentientSports is truly cutting-edge. With some of the industry’s leading AI talents involved, I see tremendous potential for innovation and expanding global digital fanbases.

“I’m thrilled to be part of such a dynamic company with the potential to revolutionise the global digital sports landscape.”

SentientSports were formed in 2000 and have ambitions to become a leading figure in the employing causal AI technologies which will transform fan engagement within the sports arena.
