After Maradona was transferred to the rehabilitation clinic, his lawyer Matias Morla said, "The good thing is that Diego is together, Diego is solid.
"Diego has gone through maybe the most difficult moment of his life and I think it was a miracle that they found this bleeding in his brain that could have cost him his life," Morla added.
It is said that only a few close friends and family members will be able to visit the 60-year-old World Cup winner while he is in rehab.
Maradona achieved iconic status in his homeland after leading Argentina to World Cup glory in Mexico in 1986. He has been the manager of Argentine Primera Division side Gimnasia y Esgrima since last year.
His last public appearance came on his 60th birthday, when he was in attendance for Gimnasia's game with Patronato.
