Gazzetta dello Sport have said that all three parties are willing to extend the loan by a further 12 months and have even agreed a transfer fee for 2024 which will see Chelsea make a significant loss on the fee they paid for the Belgian.
Todd Boehly is willing to accept the club will make a loss thanks to an intervention from close friend, Jay-Z.
The rapper who owns Roc Nation, the same agency who handle all of Lukaku's dealings, has suggested that staying at the San Siro would benefit all parties.
Lukaku hasn't set the world alight since returning to Italy and has only played three matches this season, scoring one goal after suffering a thigh injury in August.
