Cesc Fabregas has reportedly agreed a deal with Italian Serie B side Como FC to join the club on a free transfer after being convinced by the club's sporting director, Dennis Wise.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder was also approached by Lecce, who recently secured promotion to the top flight of Italy. Como were taken over by London-based company SENT Entertainment Ltd in April 2019, just three years after the club had gone bankrupt and had to start over again. As part of SENT Entertainment's takeover, the club appointed ex-Chelsea man Dennis Wise as the club's sporting director and he played a huge role in convincing Fabregas to sign for the club. The Spaniard has enjoyed a decorated career, winning two Premier League titles, the Europa League and the FA Cup with Chelsea, an FA Cup with Arsenal and a LaLiga title with Barcelona. Fabregas' final season at Monaco saw him struggle with injury and he made just six appearances in all competitions and admitted that the 'level of the club might have to go down' following his departure from the Stade Louis II at the end of last season.
