The Leicester man deservedly saw red just minutes before half-time.
Ayoze Perez has put in an early contender for worst tackle of the season after he was sent off for Leicester in their Premier League match against West Ham.
The Spaniard put his studs straight into the shin of Pablo Fornals with the sort of tackle that breaks legs.
Although Perez is off-balance when he makes the tackles, there is no excuse for it and the referee had no option but to send him off, with Fornals incredibly lucky not to have been seriously injured.
The West Ham midfielder was unharmed and continued the game.
The referee initially missed the challenge but after being sent to the pitchside monitor by the VAR official realised he had no choice other than to brandish the red card, in a prime example of exactly what VAR should be used for and why it was introduced to the Premier League.

A red card is the last thing Leicester needed as well.
Pablo Fornals had put the Hammers in front on 26 mins and that is how the scoreline remained at halftime.

Although the Foxes saw more of the ball in the opening 45 mins, West Ham had been much the more dangerous side, leaving Brendan Rodgers and his side with an uphill struggle going into the second half.
