No Champions League football for Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll will not join Belgian side
Club Brugge after he failed his medical after cutting his honeymoon short in order to sign.
Carroll is currently a free agent after leaving West Bromwich Albion at the end of the season having made 14 appearances, scoring three times after joining them from Reading in January.
Brugge cancelled his proposed trial period
But despite interest from the Belgian side, they have opted to cancel the potential trial period for the 33-year-old after failing to pass a number of physical and mental tests,
according to Belgian outlet HLN.
The Newcastle-born forward started his career at his boyhood club where he burst onto the scene as a youngster, finishing as their top scorer as the Magpies won the
Championship.
Carroll then moved to Liverpool for a then-record transfer paid for a British player but struggled with the weight of the price tag - scoring 11 times in 58 games.
He later moved to West Ham United before returning to his hometown of Newcastle. His two most recent spells have been at Reading and West Brom.
Carroll has also made nine England appearances, scoring twice.

Brugge are the current champions of Belgium after winning the end-of-season play-offs following a second-place finish during the regular season.
In amongst their side are a number of former
Premier League players such as Simon Mignolet and Denis Odoi - formerly of Fulham.
Their most recent signature is the arrival of former Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe, who joins from Stoke City on a two-year deal and have also brought in forward Ferran Jutgla from Barcelona.
The Belgian side automatically qualified for the
Champions League group stages after their league success and will be hoping to fare better than last season, where they finished bottom of the group.
