Garnacho overhead kick

‘This goal is incomplete without Peter Drury’s commentary’

Peter Drury’s commentary for Alejandro Garnacho’s wonder-goal is earning plaudits across social media.

Garnacho unleashed what many are describing as the best overhead kick in Premier League history in the third minute of Manchester United’s 3-0 win against Everton on Sunday.

Viewers were left speechless while Drury exclaimed his surprise at the strike however those watching Sky Sports were deprived of Drury’s legendary voice.

Many were left wondering how it would’ve sounded if Drury was commenting for Sky, and this is how it went:

“Dalot joining in from full back, Dalot for Garnacho, oh wow! Oh wow! That is one of the great goals, in front of a stunned Gwladys Street,” Drury bellowed as Garnacho’s effort hit the back of the net.

“Special beyond special. How has he plucked that one out?”

Co-commentator Lee Dixon was just as shocked, saying: “Well the move was good enough but the finish, every one of these Everton fans, it’s not going to happen, but they should be applauding that because they won’t see a goal like that at Goodison Park for a very long time.

“Watch Dalot’s run, takes Mykolenko inside, that gives Rashford a bit of space, but watch this, far post.

“Forget about everything else, Dalot sits it up, and that is world class, absolutely world class.”

United went on to comfortably win the game after second-half goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial sealed the three points.
