The life of luxury

Cristiano Ronaldo is continuing to live the life of luxury in Saudi Arabia and is staying in the same hotel that is used by Newcastle United.

Ronaldo made the move to the Middle East in the back end of 2022 as he made the big-money move to Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United by mutual consent in November.

While the 37-year-old is keen to help raise the profile of football in the kingdom, the forward is still keen to return to Europe and has been linked with a move to the Saudi-owned Newcastle.

His manager, Rudi Garcia, also believes that Ronaldo is destined to return to Europe.

“Ronaldo won’t finish his career at Al Nassr. He will return to Europe,” he said.

The Magpies were bought by the Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) last season and after some heavy investment, are now challenging for a top four spot.

Some reports claimed that if Newcastle were to qualify for the Champions League, it would activate a clause that would see Ronaldo move to St James’ Park for the season, however those claims have been reported as inaccurate.

In the meantime, Ronaldo is currently residing at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, occupying 17 suites to accommodate his stay.

As per The Mirror, the Portugal captain is paying over £250,000 a month and is staying with his family in the two-floor Kingdom suite, which has gold and marble accents throughout the room.

Ronaldo’s start to life in the Middle East has gotten off to a mixed start. After making his debut in the all-stars game against a Paris Saint-Germain side containing Lionel Messi, the forward has failed to get off the mark in his first two league games.

Last week he and his Al Nassr teammates were also knocked out of the Saudi Super Cup, losing 3-1 to Al Ittihad at the semi final stage.
