Footage emerges of shameful fighting in crowd at Billy Joe Saunders’ title defence

No need for this

Leave it to the professionals, lads.

Nobody likes to see the kind of scenes which marred Billy Joe Saunders’ latest title defence as fighting among spectators spoiled a card which was set up to showcase the best of British boxing talent.

Saunders retained his WBO middleweight title with a relatively routine victory over opponent Willie Monroe Jr. in the main event of Saturday night’s show at London’s Copper Box Arena.

Saunders encountered little danger as he outpointed his American opponent in the evening’s headliner.

The likes of Daniel Dubois and Anthony Yarde stole the show on the undercard but the trouble in the crowd stole the headlines

Footage has emerged of an absolutely needless altercation with several fans as one spectator shouted “there are kids,” in an attempt to calm the situation.

A woman was apparently flung to the ground in the melee while one man climbed over a row of seats in an attempt to involve himself in the scrap which seemingly saw a man kicked while on the ground.
