Floyd Mayweather offers greatest indication that Conor McGregor fight will happen

There is only one fight that will get Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in the ring.

If there was ever an endorsement of the magnitude or attractiveness of Carl Frampton's and Leo Santa Cruz's WBA featherweight title fight then it was the ringside presence of the former five-weight world champion. Over the past number of months, there have been varying levels of confidence regarding whether we will ever see the two face off against each other in a boxing ring. It seems that much of the negotiations are now focussed on the potential earnings each fighter is set to make, with no agreement currently in sight. However, Mayweather revealed that "most likely the fight will happen."

"Most likely the fight between me and Conor McGregor will happen," Mayweather said.

Mayweather indicated that agreements, most likely surrounding potential earnings, are yet to be agreed by both camps but is hopeful of a resolution.

"That's the only fight that will get me back in the ring. He's going to do a job on his side and we are going to do a job on my side and hopefully all the fans in the UK come over and support me."

Mayweather was then quizzed on when the potential 'superfight' between the pair is likely to take place but was unable to offer any wisdom in that regard.

"I don't know (when it will be), I need to communicate with my team, the fight hasn't been made yet, but it is all about entertainment so hopefully we can make it happen."
