Why?

When Man United were picked out as Liverpool's opponents for their last-16 Europa League clash, Mancs and Scousers everywhere were united in their giddy excitement over the unexpected coupling. But as the news started to sink in and plans were hastily made to attend both games, an odd detail about the second leg match at Old Trafford began to cause some understandable consternation. Although the first leg takes place at Anfield on Thursday March 10 at the very sensible time of 8.05pm, the second leg kicks off 0n St Patrick's Day on Thursday March 17 at the very inconvenient time of 6pm. This is due to television scheduling, but it means that the game will be extremely inconvenient for both those planning to attend at Old Trafford, and also those hoping to get home in time to watch it on TV.
