Fabinho’s wife aimed a savage dig at the cause of Manchester City’s success as she enjoyed Liverpool’s trophy parade at the weekend.

Liverpool were celebrating their FA Cup and Carabao Cup success in front of thousands of Reds fans in the city centre, just one day after losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid in Paris.

The streets of Merseyside were full of Liverpool supporters as the bus carrying the first-team squad made its way along the same route that the Reds took after their Champions League success in 2019.

Several opposition fans mocked Liverpool for holding a parade despite missing out on the Premier League and European Cup in successive weeks. However, Jurgen Klopp and his players were keen to stress that it was important to celebrate what has been a hugely successful campaign.

Reds midfielder Fabinho played the full 90 minutes against Los Blancos at the Stade de France, despite having been out injured prior to the match. The Brazilian made 48 appearances in all competitions this season, helping Klopp’s side to add two trophies to their cabinet.

Despite missing out on the Champions League crown, and Premier League title to Man City, Fabinho’s wife wasn’t holding back as she fired a brutal dig at the Citizens amid the celebrations on Merseyside.

Posting several pictures of the parade on Twitter, Rebeca Tavares took aim at Pep Guardiola’s side, tweeting: “We are Liverpool, this means more! See you next season, red family. Thank you for your support. ‘There are just some things oil can’t buy'”.

After receiving a number of angry replies from City supporters, she then wrote a follow-up tweet which read: “My hobby right now it’s read haters comments in my tweets THE TRUTH HURTS!!!!”

After the clash in the French capital – which was marred by incidents outside the stadium – Klopp insisted that his team has enjoyed a successful season, despite the disappointment against Madrid. The German also vowed that the Reds will reach the final once again next campaign.
