F1 driver told ‘no more nude calendars’ despite raising £121k for cancer charity

His team principal has warned him to tone down his explicit antics.

A Formula 1 driver has been told he can’t make nude calendars after releasing one last year which ended up raising over £120k for a cancer charity.

Valtteri Bottas has been a popular face on the F1 grid for over a decade, having served as Sir Lewis Hamilton’s teammate at Mercedes from 2017 to 2021.

His mullet and moustache combo has long been a talking point amongst fans of the sport, but it was a recent venture involving other (if not all) body parts that has got him into some trouble with his team principal.

‘Bottass 2024’ was a cheeky nude charity calendar, released in late 2023, that saw the Finnish star bare (almost) all in the name of prostate cancer research.

It reportedly raised £121,000 for the important cause and earned him a lot of respect from peers and fans alike.

But if fans were hoping for a 2025 follow up, they’re going to be bitterly disappointed as Mercedes’ boss Toto Wolff has revealed he’s asked Bottas to tone down some of his antics.

“We are Mercedes, so maybe the nude calendar is not on anymore,” Wolff told RacingNews365.

“So we’ve said that, but we need to keep him authentic,” he added. “And if he wants to keep the ugly mullet, then he should!”

As reserve driver, Bottas will be ready to step in at any given time if either of those in the hot seat – Russell or Antonelli – are unable to race.

While he may not be making anymore calendars, Wolff will be hopeful that the35-year-old can mentor Mercedes’ young stars.
