Ex-Liverpool midfielder Suso equals a *Luis Suarez* record with sensational Serie A hat-trick

Not that Luis Suarez

Kevin McGillicuddy

Su su Suso (with apologies to Phil Collins).

We can safely say that Suso never produced any magic like this while at Anfield.

Maybe the former Liverpool starlet didn’t get the regular run of games he is currently enjoying at Genoa in Serie A.

The ex-Spain underage international was always a very talented player, but was probably a little too lightweight for the rigours of Premier League football.

He left Liverpool two years ago to try life with AC Milan, but, after an unproductive spell, moved to Genoa on-loan where he is quickly becoming a fan favourite.

Clearly life in Italy suits him much better, as he grabbed three belters in his side’s 4-0 win over Frosinone on Sunday.

The first was a cracking finish from just outside the penalty area.

The second was a net buster.

And the third was a piece of trickery Luis Suarez in his prime would be proud of.

The goals meant that the midfielder managed to equal a record held by a certain Luis Suarez, but not THAT Luis Suarez – but Luis Suarez, the 1960 Ballon d’Or winner and former Barcelona and Inter Milan midfielder.

Suso also made some club history.
