The Ballon d'Or winner will be announced on November 29
Patrice Evra has taken to social media to congratulate Lionel Messi on winning the 2021 Ballon d'Or, despite the fact that the winner has not been announced yet.
The Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain forward is tipped to win the prestigious individual award once again, which will be awarded on November 29 at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
However, Evra has already taken to Instagram to congratulate him on the achievement - even though no official announcement has been made yet.
Alongside a picture of the Frenchman and Messi competing for the ball in their respective Barcelona and Manchester United days, Evra wrote: "Congratulations to @leomessi for winning another ballon d’or ? ???? también la gente que no me entiendo cuando hablo que me chupa la djudju ?? #ilovethisgame#positive4evra #argentina ♥️".
Messi has made 56 appearances in 2021, scoring 41 goals and registering 17 assists - also winning his first ever international trophy when he lifted the Copa America with Argentina in July.

The Ballon d'Or - which was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic - sees 30 men and 20 women nominated.
Alongside Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo are thought to have a good chance of winning the 2021 award.
While people might be surprised as to why Evra was so keen to congratulate Messi when he boasts a close relationship with his close rival Ronaldo, the former United defender made it clear why with comment on his own post.
He said: "When I talk it’s because @cristiano is my brother and when I told you the future you all say it’s a robbery ??? I love you all ❤️".
Ronaldo's 2021 has seen him make 59 appearances, scoring 43 goals and grabbing six assists.
Fans will be able to see whether or not Evra was indeed 'in the know' regarding the Ballon d'Or winner tomorrow (29 November).
