Everton close in on Lucas Digne and also want to sign Yerry Mina

Marco Silva is nearing his second major signing of the summer

So far, the newly appointed Everton manager has only managed to bring Richarlison to Goodison Park. The Brazilian signed for the Toffees last week, having played under Silva at Watford during the early stages of last season.

Now though, it seems Everton are close to adding Lucas Digne to their ranks. The French defender is currently with Barcelona on their preseason tour of the United States but is reportedly preparing to fly to England after a fee of around £22m was agreed between the two clubs.

Digne

Digne joined Barca from Paris Saint-Germain two years ago but has spent most of his time as an understudy for first choice left-back Jordi Alba. Everton are believed to view him as a long-term successor to Leighton Baines, who is now 33.

According to the Mirror, Digne isn’t the only Barca player who could end up at Goodison in the near future with Colombian central defender Yerry Mina also a target for Silva.

Mina, scorer of his country’s late equaliser against England in the World Cup last-16 game, has hardly featured for the Spanish champions since he arrived in January from Palmeiras. With just six appearances to his name at the club, the 23-year-old is thought to be open to the idea of a move to England in order to secure more regular playing time.
