Unsurprisingly, the result also saw plenty of United supporters calling for their manager to be replaced. Jose Mourinho has consistently been linked with the role since United's form took a significant nosedive in November, and the loss at the Stadium of Light is guaranteed to heighten any speculation about the former Chelsea boss heading to Old Trafford.
