He’s back!

Erik ten Hag has reportedly agreed to join a new club as manager.

The former Manchester United manager left Old Trafford in October last year following a string of disappointing results, although things would only get worse after his departure.

Ten Hag had a mixed experience in Manchester, winning the League Cup and FA Cup, however, underperformed in the league leading to his eventual departure.

Following on from his sacking, the Dutchman took some time for himself before jumping back into management, despite interest from several clubs.

Now, the 55-year-old is set to return to management in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen who are losing their heroic coach Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.

Fabrizio Romano reported the news this morning.

He said: “Understand Erik ten Hag said yes to Bayer Leverkusen project on a two year contract. He’s now waiting for club decision as they spoke to several candidates… …but ETH gives priority to Bayer 04, with Ajax waiting in the background.”

The decision now hinges on Leverkusen also accepting the move and eventually preparing a formal contract.

Ajax are said to be waiting in the background in case the move does not come to fruition.

Ten Hag took charge of 128 games as United manager, winning 72, drawing 20 and losing 36.

He had a points per game average of 1.84
