Arsenal has paid tribute to missing Cardiff City striker Emiliano Sala by including him amongst the Bluebirds’ squad list ahead of Tuesday night’s Premier League match between the two clubs.

As well as handing out daffodil badges to members of the press, the North London club also printed ‘Emiliano Sala’ next to an Argentinian flag and a small daffodil underneath the rest of the Cardiff squad on the reverse of the matchday programme.

The daffodil is the national flower of Wales and also holds significance for the French club Nantes that Sala left to join Cardiff, who play in yellow.

Although Guernsey police confirmed that they had abandoned attempts to search for Sala last Thursday, his family have raised over €300,000 via crowfunding in order to resume the search for the striker and his pilot with several high-profile footballers donating to the cause.
