Ed Woodward follows transfer woes with a *promotion*

Someone thinks he's doing a good job...

Florentino Perez and a few Manchester United fans might disagree, but it appears somebody thinks Ed Woodward has been doing a good job.

An announcement from the club revealed that United’s Chief Exec has been elected to the new board of the European Club Association.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge of Bayern Munich has been re-appointed as ECA chairman, while Woodward takes his place on a board alongside United’s former goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar – now a director at Ajax – and Real Madrid’s Pedro Lopez Jiminez.

Rummenigge seemed very pleased about it all: “ECA’s achievements since its inception in 2008 are remarkable and make all of us very proud. We are a well-respected association and are taken seriously at all levels.”

“With the support of all member clubs, the newly-elected Executive Board will face the upcoming challenges with a lot of commitment to ensure that the clubs’ voice continues to be heard.”
