Napoli forward scores eight seconds after coming onto the pitch against Juventus

Incredible

This is incredible.

Dries Mertens scored with his first touch on Wednesday night.

The Napoli forward came-on as a second half substitute against Juventus in the Coppa Italia tie at the Stadio San Paolo, and made an instant impact.

Mertens replaced Arkadiusz Milik and sprinted towards the opposition goal as a pass was played back to Neto.

The Juventus goalkeeper failed to control the pass, and was soon picking the ball out of the net as Mertens tapped it in.

Just eight seconds after entering the game, the Belgian forward had scored.

Napoli won the game 3-2, but lost the tie 4-5 as Juventus advanced to the Coppa Italia final.

Gonzalo Higuain returned to Napoli, and scored both of Juventus’ goals.

Higuain turned from hero to villain for the Napoli fans after his €90m transfer to Juve last summer.

They made their feelings known about him early on.

And Higuain made own feelings known following his first goal on the night.

The Argentine striker appeared to gesture towards Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli president. According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Higuain said: “It’s your fault” and pointed towards De Laurentiis as he celebrated the goal

Last summer, Higuain said he “couldn’t stand another minute” with De Laurentiis, and that the Napoli president “pushed him” into leaving the club, so there’s no love lost between the pair.
