Does this Joe Allen stat sum up Brendan Rodgers’ spending at Liverpool?

It's pretty impressive...in a way.

Brendan Rodgers has come in for plenty of flak for some of his signings at Liverpool, but one big-money recruit has a quite remarkable record to his name.

Joe Allen, who Rodgers brought in from former club Swansea City for £15m, has incredibly failed to register a single Premier League assist during three years at Anfield.

The Welsh international has not threatened the grand total of two that he managed in Swansea’s first Premier League season, despite spending two-seasons playing behind the free-scoring Luis Suarez.

Liverpool have scored more than 220 goals during the Welsh Xavi’s time on Merseyside, but he hasn’t created a single one.

You’d have thought he’d have at least set one up by accident, like Tom Carroll’s two-yard lay-off for a Gareth Bale screamer in 2013, but no…

Perhaps it’s a bold attempt by Rodgers and Allen to confuse the stats compilers.

You can’t have a poor assists-per-90-minutes ratio when you’re dividing by zero.
