Dimitar Berbatov hits out at “worst coach ever” David James

He wasn't impressed

Dimitar Berbatov has offered a damning assessment of David James’ managerial ability.

At this point, you’re probably wondering where Berbatov is playing football these days, and how the hell did former Liverpool and England goalkeeper James end up as his manager.

Berbatov joined Kerala Blasters last summer, signing a one-year contract with the Indian Super League side. His former Manchester United teammate Wes Brown also signed for the club, and Rene Meulensteen, a former United coach, was the team’s manager.

However, Meulensteen was sacked in January and replaced by James, who had coached the side back in 2014 for a few months.

The change in manager did little to improve Kerala Blasters’ form, and they failed to qualify for the ISL playoffs after recording just six wins from 18 games to finish sixth in the league.

Berbatov’s season is over and he hit out at James’ managerial ability in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

He wrote:

Berbatov’s hashtags suggest that he didn’t rate James’ tactical nous, and thought little of his ability as a coach.
