Did you catch this incredibly awkward moment during BBC’s half-time analysis?

Yikes

Live TV can be a tricky thing to master.

After countless times presenting Match of the Day on the BBC, Gary Lineker should have things down to a fine art but even the best can make mistakes from time to time.

The first half of the final Group A game between Switzerland and France was hampered by a rather embarrassing series of wardrobe malfunctions for the Swiss, as fans struggled to understand why Granit Xhaka and co had opted for shirts seemingly made out of wet toilet paper.

The torn shirts were probably the most exciting part of a first half in which neither side found a way to break the deadlock, and so you can understand why the experts on the Match of the Day crew were a little short on things to talk about during the half-time break.

With no goals to discuss, attention naturally turned to the French attempts to strip their opponents and one contentious decision in which the Swiss felt they could have had a penalty.

As Lineker introduces the bit, Rio Ferdinand offers up former France international Thierry Henry as the man most qualified to give his thoughts. Henry’s mind, however, is elsewhere and what ensues is one of the most awkward 20 seconds in the history of live football before Lineker segues awkwardly into the highlights of Albania vs Romania.
