Derek Chisora tips Dillian Whyte to beat Tyson Fury

‘He’s going to come in and ‘die’ in that ring that day’

Derek Chisora has indicated that he believes Dillian Whyte will beat Tyson Fury when the two heavyweights face-off in late April.

Fury was set to face Oleksandr Usyk in a unification bout, but both Whyte and Anthony Joshua rejected step-aside money and now a fight between the Gypsy King and Usyk will depend on the outcome of both respective bouts.

Usyk and Joshua are set to face-off in either March or April, while WBC interim champion Whyte will now have the chance to face Fury in his next defence.

It is thought that Fury’s fight against Whyte will take place in April, with the fight set to take place in the UK.

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium is being discussed as a possible venue and other football stadiums may also be considered.

While Fury is yet to taste defeat in his illustrious career, fellow heavyweight Chisora believes that ‘hungry’ Whyte will be willing to ‘die’ in the ring against him.

Speaking to Behind the Gloves, the 38-year-old said: “He [Dillian Whyte] wants it, he’s hungry.

“The problem is yeah, when fighters make 20, 30 or 40 million, they’re not hungry anymore.

“There’s only one fighter who has ever been hungry when he’s made 100 million and that’s Floyd Mayweather.

“When the rest of the fighters make all this money, they’re not hungry anymore, they just do it for the sake of doing it.

“But when someone who is hungry [and] wants it more, like Dillian right now, he’s going to come in and die in that ring that day.”

When Chisora was asked if the Gypsy King would ever overlook an opponent, Del Boy replied: “He is on Dillian though.”

Chisora suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Joseph Parker in his last outing, with the scorecard reading 115-110, 115-111, 114-112 all in favour of Parker.
