PSG begin talks to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur

Dele has been left out of Spurs' last two squads

Paris Saint-Germain have begun talks to sign Tottenham Hotspur attacker Dele Alli, who was reportedly offered to Real Madrid as part of the loan deal which took Gareth Bale back to London. According to a report in The Telegraph, PSG believe they have a good chance of signing the 24-year-old, who has been left out of Jose Mourinho's last two matchday squads. After excluding him from the squad for Sunday's match against Southampton at St. Mary's, Mourinho confirmed prior to the game that his decision was not injury related. It has been a disappointing start to the season for the former MK Dons player, who was substituted at half-time of Spurs' opening day defeat to Everton at home. After scoring 10 and 18 goals respectively in his first two Premier League campaigns for Spurs, Dele's progression stalled in the latter years of Mauricio Pochettino's reign at the club, although his tally of eight league goals last season was his highest since 2017/18. It has been reported that Dele was unhappy after being removed on the opening day of the season, and, like any footballer, will no doubt be attracted by the prospect of playing in Paris alongside the likes of Layvin Kurzawa and Sergio Rico.
