David Villa has announced this morning that his next club will be Vissel Kobe in the Japanese J1 League.

Villa announced recently that he would be leaving New York City FC after four happy years in Major League Soccer, with one final move on the cards for the 36-year-old.

At Vissel Kobe, Villa will reunite with Andrés Iniesta, who moved east last summer after 17 years with Barcelona.

The former Valencia, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid striker made the announcement via a creative, personal YouTube video posted to his twitter account.

The pair played together for three seasons at Barcelona, between 2010-2013, combining down the left-hand side of the pitch as part of Pep Guardiola’s treble winning side.

They also won the 2010 World Cup together, both playing hugely important roles in Spain’s run to the final, with Iniesta scoring the winning goal against the Netherlands in the dying minutes of extra time in the final.

Vissel Kobe also have former Arsenal and Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski, who will be hoping to form a prolific partnership with Villa.
