David Moyes is reportedly being eyed for a Premier League return

David Moyes could be set to return to the Premier League, just 18 months after being sacked by Manchester United.

The former Everton boss has been in charge of Real Soceidad in La Liga since leaving Old Trafford, but now The Times report that he is being lined up for a return to England.

Following Aston Villa’s miserable start to the season, it’s thought that Moyes is considered the frontrunner if the club decide to part company with Tim Sherwood.

Villa’s results over the next fortnight will prove decisive as to whether Sherwood remains at Villa. Owner Randy Lerner is a known admirer of Moyes, having tried to appoint him in the past.

Lerner is said to admire the work that Moyes did while at Everton on a relatively small budget, but Brendan Rodgers is also an option.

Similarly to Villa, Moyes’ Real Sociedad team have made a poor start to the season and are currently sixteenth in La Liga. Perhaps now is the ideal time for the Scot to return to the Premier League.
