An all-star batting lineup failed to withstand India’s ferocious bowling attack, with both Joe Root and Ben Stokes out for a duck
England were bowled for a humiliating 110 after being put in to bat first at the Oval.
Jos Buttler’s men were skittled in just a few short hours after India produced a seam masterclass in south London.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl, with plenty of grass on the wicket and some cloud cover overhead.
It proved to be a masterstroke as Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna produced a dazzling display, taking the wickets of Joe Root and Ben Stokes for a duck and skittling the summer’s superstar, Jonny Bairstow, for 7.
There was also some incredible glove work from Rishabh Pant, who caught masterfully as wicket keeper.

A late stand from David Willey and Brydon Carse came to an abrupt end following a superb ball from Bumrah that ripped Carse’s wickets out of the ground.
He got 6 for 19 in a bowling performance that will go down in history.
