WATCH: Philippe Coutinho scores the most Philippe Coutinho goal ever for Brazil

Unstoppable

Brazil are up and running in Russia

Philippe Coutinho is up and running in Russia.

The former Liverpool player opened the scoring just before the 20 minute mark of the Group E game against Switzerland in Rostov, a goal that will have looked incredibly familiar to those that watched him during his time at Anfield.

A cross from Real Madrid’s Marcelo was headed clear by the Swiss defence, falling at the feet of Coutinho. Allowing him one touch for control, the Barcelona star guided the ball into the top corner of Yann Sommer’s goal, clipping the inside of the post as it found the back of the net. Unstoppable, and similar to several of his goals during his time on Merseyside.

As the replays show, Coutinho doesn’t even need to look before getting his shot away.

An early contender for goal of the tournament…

The opening game in the group was played earlier in the day, Serbia getting the better of Costa Rica thanks to Aleksandr Kolarov’s free-kick – also pretty decent.
